TenderGrassroots Uganda is dedicated to creating a positive impact in the community by offering essential services and support. Our mission is to empower individuals and families through accessible healthcare, mobility aids, and employment opportunities. We envision a society where everyone has the resources and support they need to thrive.

What TGR Does

Health Care

TGR has been a driving force in improving access to healthcare in Uganda. Through free health fairs, it has provided essential medical services to underserved communities, ensuring that vaccinations and medical attention are accessible to those in need. These initiatives have strengthened community health and supported long-term well-being across various regions in Uganda.

Education

TGR is committed to improving education in Uganda by establishing advanced learning facilities and providing essential resources for students with a computer lab equiped with 12 computers and a library, TGR enhances the quality of teaching. Additionally, by supporting school exchange programs, it fosters a broader learning experience and collaboration among schools, enriching the educational journey for students.

Community

TGR promotes community development by offering local entrepreneurs critical support systems, such as mentorship and training programs. By connecting businesses with markets and funding opportunities, TGR fosters job creation and economic growth. Additionally, TGR develops women-focused initiatives to tackle gender inequality, providing targeted support to women entrepreneurs in underserved communities.

Shifa Wahab

Director of Programs

Shifa is an experienced nurse leading TB, ART clinics, health programs, and educational initiatives with over 27 years of experience.

Shifa Wahab is a registered nurse with over 27 years of experience. As a nursing officer at Bugolobi Medical Center in Kampala, Uganda, she heads the TB and ART clinics supervising a team to ensure efficient and proper patient care. She also serves as a dispensing nurse in charge of drug requisition, record management and verification of prescriptions prior to dispensing.
Shifa has been with TGR since its inception as a director. In this role, she coordinates the health activities, leads the design and implementation of the TGR annual health fairs and provides health services. She is further responsible for overseeing the educational programs

Director of Operations

Halima Adam is a professional nurse, fully registered with the Uganda Nurses and midwife Council with over 27-years of working experience.

Halima Adam is a professional nurse, fully registered with the Uganda Nurses and midwife Council with over 27-years of working experience.
Over the course of her career, she has traversed various regions in Uganda and has worked in both the private and public sectors, amassing a multitude of knowledge pertaining to healthcare in Uganda.
As a Nursing Officer in Mubende Regional Referral Hospital, she is the nurse in charge of the emergency unit handling the daily operations as well as research and innovation to streamline patient management. Halima is a member of various health associations including African federation of Emergency medicine
(AFEM), Medicine and therapeutic hospital committee and Palliative care association Uganda. She has presented several research publications with the recent one in October 2024 Ustein to ACHAN Meeting (WHO) Switzerland. Outside of her primary role, Halima has been with TGR since its inception as a director. In this role, she coordinates the health activities, leads the design and implementation of the TGR annual health fairs
and provides health services. She is further responsible for overseeing the community outreach
programs. She brings with her ample knowledge to propel the organization to great heights.

Yasin manages clinic logistics, coordinating daily tasks, maintaining organization, and supporting seamless operational efficiency.
